Getting all the achievements from a game can be too complicated, multiple pages on the Internet to research and references to find. This is why I decided to make a simple tutorial explaining how to get the achievements of Fallout 4.

Before we begin, I would like to point out that this tutorial has spoilers about the game! I'll take this opportunity to also inform the version I used: 1.2.37.0 (without expansion packs). This website is originally in Brazilian Portuguese, but in this English version I'll use the original names in English, because this makes it much easier if you use one Wiki such as the NukaPedia - http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki

Important Note: Starting from version 1.5.307.0, having mods (does not matter if either directly by the game or by an external manager such as Nexus), will prevent you from obtaining the achievements! But do not worry, we made an tutorial here on our website that explains how to get the achievements even with mods, see on this link!

General

I'll put in this category the achievements that I classify as miscellaneous.

Gun-For-Hire

Gun-For-Hire - Do 10 side quests. This achievement is simple to be accomplished if you like to explore the map, just complete 10 missions that do not belong to the main story. I'll put the name of some missions here so you can see the Wiki about their location: A Pillar of the Community; Cambridge Polymer Labs; Confidence Man; Curtain Call; Diamond City Blues; Here Kitty, Kitty; Here There Be Monsters; Human Error; In Sheep's Clothing; Kid in a Fridge.

Mercenary

Mercenary - Do 50 miscellaneous objectives. This achievement is a little more complex to be made because of the large amount of required objectives. I'll put the names of some of them here so you can see the Wiki regarding their location: Art Appreciation; Atom Cats; Blood Bank; Clean the Water Supply; Detective Case Files; Dunwich Borers; Fallen Hero; Getting Technical; Giddyup 'n Go; Gun Run; Hazardous Material; Find the Treasures of Jamaica Plain; MacCready for Action; Meet Ness at the Crash Site; Nuka Cola Needs; Prep School; Reactor Coolant; The Cleaner; Traffic Jam; Vault 81 Tour.

Scavver

ScavverGet 1000 resource units used to create objects, such as acid, adhesive, etc. It is worth mentioning that the objects with these items also count toward the goal. As an example: If you have a military grade duct tape unit stored in your settlement workbench you already have six resource units for this achievement (2 ballistic fibers and 4 adhesives in this case).

What's Yours Is Mine

What's Yours Is Mine - Pick 50 locks. I emphasize that in the beginning of the game you can only pick novice locks. You will need the Locksmith perk (Perception 4) in order to break into harder locks.

RobCo's Worst Nightmare

RobCo's Worst Nightmare - Hack 50 terminals. I emphasize that in the beginning of the game you can only hack novice terminals. You will need the Hacker perk (Intelligence 4) in order to break into harder terminals.

Armed and Dangerous

Armed and Dangerous - Create 50 weapons mods. It is worth mentioning that your character needs to create them for this achievement to be validated (purchased modifications will not count). You will need the Blacksmith perk (Strength 4) for the melee weapons or the Gun Nut perk (Intelligence 3) for long-range weapons. Some of these changes may require other perks to be crafted.

Wasteland D.I.Y.

Wasteland D.I.Y. - Create 100 itens. These items are foods and chems that are made on the cooking station and the chemical station.

Never Go It Alone

Never Go It Alone - Recruit 5 different companions. The game has in total 13 different companions, but 5 of them appear during the early part of the main story of the game (I will underline their names). The companions are: Cait; Codsworth; Curie; Paladin Danse; Deacon; Dogmeat; John Hancock; Robert MacCready; Nick Valentine; Piper; Preston Garvey; Strong; X6-88.

Lovable

Lovable Reach maximum relationship level with a companion. Each companion has their preferences and tastes, to earn this achievement is not necessary to be in a romance with a companion, just do what the companion like multiple times until he/she provides his/her unique ability for you.

Fix-Er-Upper

Fix-Er-Upper  - Build 100 items in the workshop of a settlement, such as doors, walls, generators, etc. This amount is sum between your settlements.

Future Retro

Future Retro - Play a holotape game. The games available are: Atomic Command; Grognak the Barbarian and the Ruby Ruins; Pipfall; Red Menace; Zeta Invaders. Early in the game into the Vault 111 you can catch the game Red Menace, who is loaded into the recreational terminal.

...The Harder They Fall

...The Harder They Fall - Kill 5 giant creatures (Super Mutant Behemoths and Mirelurk Queens). Locations that typically contains these creatures: near Sunshine Tidings co-op, at a power station to the west of Natick Banks, and south of Walden Pond, on Murkwater construction site, on Spectacle Island.

Masshole

Masshole - Kill 300 people.

Animal Control

Animal Control - Kill 300 creatures. Note that any nonhuman will be counted for this achievement.

Homerun!

Homerun! - Make a homerun in the Diamond City market. In places where the population is not used to play baseball, like here in Brazil, it can be a little difficult to understand this achievement. The first place you need to go is the home plate, which is a gray object on the ground, located in front of the Piper's office in Diamond City. Then run to your right (east), which is in the hallway in front of the meat seller and you will see the first base just after a small staircase. Head north shortly to find second base. From there turn to your left (west) and go straight down the hall to find the third. Turn left again (south) and go back to home plate that is in front of the Piper office.

Touchdown!

Touchdown! - Get killed by a nuclear explosion. The way to do that is dying for a super mutant suicider (which has a mini nuke in his hand).

They're Not Dolls...

They're Not Dolls... - Collect 10 Vault-Tec bobbleheads. The location of all of them you can see in this link.

Benevolent Leader

Benevolent Leader - Reach maximum happiness in a large settlement. So far this is the most difficult achievement to get in the game. There are several tutorials on the Internet to get this achievement, like this one. Briefly: Use Sanctuary or other large settlement; you need to have at least 10 of charisma; do not let companions, only settlers; have at least one food and water for each settler, as well as an indoor bed; have at least 100 defense, far from shops and other places that generate happiness; make the most of level 3 stores that generate hapiness as you can (as long as the settlers are working there). For lazy people, there is a saved game which is a few moments to be completed, just wait a few seconds after you load the game to earn it, click here.

Minuteman

The faction missions will be shown in our next section in greater detail, since the missions below does not interfere with the development of the story, I'll show it here.

Sanctuary

The First Step - Complete the quest The First Step. This quest will be given by Preston Garvey after you complete When Freedom Calls. It consists in killing raiders in a random location.

Regardless of the option chosen, it is usually necessary to wait at least 7 days in the game so that the mission can be started (note that it is not time in real life, but the time that is shown on your PipBoy).

The following section will show the main missions of the game. The quests are present in the order they appear in the game, in other words, the first achievement of the main missions is War Never Changes, the next mission of the main story that will give an achievement is When Freedom Calls and so on. Factions

The following section will show the three factions missions: Brotherhood of Steel, The Institute and The Railroad. It is worth noting that it is impossible to get all the achievements of the game in just one playthrough, for this you will need at least two. I emphasize that you do not need two new games, you can create a save (not fast) before deciding the faction in The Molecular Level.

To do all the achievements of the game in just two playthroughs, do the following:

  • Do a game completing all the missions of the Brotherhood of Steel, the first mission of this faction is Call to Arms. This faction inevitably will complete the game by destroying the Institute and consequently getting the achievement The Nuclear Option.
  • Make a second playthrough following the Railroad, the first mission of this faction is Road to Freedom. Remember to make the optional missions of this faction to release its unique items. At some point during the quest Underground Undercover they will ask you to work undercover at the Institute (which is to do missions for them until the conclusion of Powering Up). After completing the preparation of the mission Underground Undercover, tell Liam that you can not help them, which will complete the mission. Make the quests Precipice of War and Rockets' Red Glare for the Railroad, and after delivering this mission, do not start the following one (which will be the Nuclear Option of Railroad), instead, get back to work in the Institute until the end, which will result in all achievements, including Nuclear Family.

This mission appears in the game soon after Tradecraft and requires the player has completed The Molecular Level (with any faction). This mission is to help Railroad to release several synths of the Institute. Note that to get all the achievements of the game in two playthroughs, the escape to fail without being started. You can do so talking to Liam after completing the Powering Up mission. Note that this will complete the mission and provide achievement.

Rockets' Red Glare

Rockets' Red Glare (The Railroad) - Complete the quest Rockets' Red Glare. This mission appears in the game soon after Precipice of War. This mission is to destroy the Brotherhood of Steel with a crazy plan from Tinker Tom. To tame a creature, build a cage, feed it with power and stay away for a while from your settlement (this can be a quick trip to a distant location and returning soon after). Oversight

Oversight - Become Overseer. There are several ways to get this achievement, the simplest is kill Overseer Barstow. Be sure to save the game before doing this, and load it after killing her, because without her you will not be to do a lot of fun missions.
